Wayne has been a Sheriff's volunteer since 2002.  View  Seniors Christmas Party - 2008 Dec 13, 2008 Club members put together a Christmas Party for Sequim Seniors again this year. Festivities included a visit by Santa Claus and entertainment by former member Don Taylor and by Dwight Doty of Sunland.  View  Bell Ringing for the Salvation Army - 2008 Dec 6, 2008 Club members helped again this year with bell ringing for the Salvation Army on 4 Saturdays at 3 Sequim locations during the end of November and in December, 2008. This year's locations are QFC, Walgreens, and Walmart.  View  Celebrity Bagging - 2008 Nov 8, 2008 Club members "bagged groceries" as part of the publicity for the annual United Way fundraising effort.  View  Paint the Town - 2008 Oct 11, 2008 Club members participated in "Paint the Town" at Lazy Acres off Highway 101.  View  Shelterboxes Aug 10, 2008 A shelterbox contains emergency food, water, and shelter for parts of the world devastated by earthquakes, tsumanis, and so forth. These are photos of shelterboxes and their contents. Some of the photos are from shelterboxes displayed at the Sequim Sunrise Waffle Breakfast in March, 2007 or the Sequim Noon Salmon Bake in August, 2007. Please take a look at http://www.shelterbox.org/f_intro.html and/or http://www.shelterboxusa.org/ for additional information.  View  Thrift Shop Painting Jul 26, 2008 Club members participated in the painting of the Sequim-Dungeness Hospital Guild Thrift Shop during July & August, 2008. The Thrift Shop provided the paint and other supplies and Rotary provided the labor, thus reducing Thrift Shop cost overhead and increasing the donation amounts available to Fire District #3, Olympic Medical Center, and for scholarships for students in the medical fields of study.  View  Organic Garden Fence Construction Jul 26, 2008 Club members built a fence separating the Organic Garden on 5th Avenue from the neighboring properties in Sequim.  View  Can Crushing Jun 17, 2008 Members of both Sequim Rotary clubs helped with the weekly Aluminum Can Crushing for the Boys & Girls Club for about 8 of the twenty years of the project lifecycle. Club members have helped with the unloading of food items for many years during this annual event.  View  RY07-08 Students of the Month May 2, 2008  View  RY07-08 Rotarians at Work Day - Saturday 4/26 Apr 26, 2008 The "Rotarians at Work Day" concept, first done on the last Saturday in April 2006 by Rotary clubs in Southern California, has grown to include Rotary clubs in at least 7 countries which did a "hands-on" service project on the last Saturday in April 2008. There were 3 separate Friday evenings in March, 2007 for this event: "Pass Me the Mic 1" - 22 contestants, reduced to 12 who qualified for the next event. "Pass Me the Mic 2" - 12 contestants, reduced to 5 who qualified for the next event. There was also a silent auction at "Pass Me the Mic 2." "Pass Me the Mic 3" - 5 contestants, plus a silent and live auction.  View  RY06-07 Waffle Breakfast at the NPBA EXPO at SHS Mar 15, 2007 These are photos from the March 10 & 11, 2007 NPBA Homebuilders EXPO at Sequim High School. The Rotary Club of Sequim Sunrise helped with parking, held a "Waffle Breakfast," and staffed an EXPO booth.
